Tonogayato Gardens

The gardens were originally constructed from 1913 to 1915 as the second home of Mr. Sadamine Eguchi, future vice president of Manchuria Railway.
In 1929, those were purchased by Hikoyata Iwasaki from Mitubishi Zaibatsu group. In later years, a main residence and tea ceremony building called “Koyo-tei” were arranged and a combination Western and Japanese style strolling gardens with trees and ponds was completed.
