Snow Country Museum

The Snow Country museum displays items related to Nobel Prize-winner Yasunari Kawabata's novel set in Yuzawa, "Snow Country", and also contains exhibits relating to the history, culture, and daily life of the people of the Snow Country that is Yuzawa.

Komako's Room
The room of Matsue, a geisha said to have lived at the Tomidaya geisha house in the 1930s, has been dismantled and reconstructed at the museum. Matsue is said to have been the model for the character of Komako in Yasunari Kawabata's Snow Country.
