On January 17, 2009, a snow lantern event was held at the Yuzawa Kogen Nunoba Family Slope.
Ten thousand candles were laid out in the snow along the 6km route between JR Echigo Yuzawa Station and Yuzawa Kogen, creating a veritable Milky Way on Earth.
This romantic winter event also featured chairlift rides for enjoying the view, outdoor food stalls, and fireworks displays.
